Kansas Swimming in Second After First Day of Cavalier Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
Kansas swimming ended the first day of the University of Virginia Cavalier Invitational on Thursday in second place. The team finished the day with 213 points.
The Kansas 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Monica Johannessen, junior Iuliia Kuzhil, senior Emily Lanteigne and junior Amanda Maez swam to a third place finish with a time of 1:34.17.
Kuzhil and Johannessen joined junior Joy Bunting and sophomore Abigail Anderson to compete in the 400-yard medley relay. The team placed third with a time of 3:47.16.
Individually, Kuzhil placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 23.45.
