KU Punter Named to Freshman All-Big 12 Team

Lawrence, Kan. — KU punter Kyle Tucker was named to The Sporting News Freshman All-Big 12 Team in a release issued by TSN on Monday. Tucker, a native of Katy, Texas, and a 2004 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School, earned the team’s punting duties in the third game of the season. He finished the year with 58 punt attempts and an averaged40.1 yards per kick.

On the season, Tucker landed 15 of his punts inside the opponents’ 20 yard line and forced 11 fair catches. His long punt of 57 yards came in the game against Nebraska. His most complete game of the season occurred against No. 2 Oklahoma as he booted four punts of 50 yards or longer while pinning the Sooners inside their 20 yard line on a pair of occasions.
