Four Individuals Pick Up Wins for Kansas Track and Field at Holiday Preview

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Hayley Harbert, MacKenzie Willis, Jordan Scott and Jamaica Collins, as well as both the Kansas men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relays teams all found the winner’s circle for the Jayhawks Friday at the Cyclone Holiday Track and Field Preview in Ames, Iowa.

Scott, one of the leaders of the Kansas men’s team, has already met the NCAA Division I men’s indoor provisional qualifying standard after winning the pole vault with a leap of 5.20 meters (17-00.75 ft.). Harbert finished in first place in the women’s 3,000 meters, running a time of 10:24.62. Willis took home the victory in the women’s pole vault as well, leaping 3.65 meters (11-11.75 ft.). Collins took home the title in the women’s long jump, posting a jump of 5.32 meters (17-05.50 ft.).

The KU “A” team in the women’s 4×400-meter relay ran a time of 3:54.92 to win its race, while the KU men’s “A” team grabbed the victory in the 4×400-meter relay as well with a time of 3:18.62.

Twenty-nine other Jayhawks posted top-10 finishes, including Keith Hayes and Keyen Porter finishing second and third in the men’s 60-meter hurdles, Sha’Ray Butler finishing second in the women’s 400 meters, Jarrell Rollins finishing third in the men’s 400 meters, and Colby Wissel and Patrick McGowan finishing second in third in the men’s 3000 meters.

The Holiday Preview is the only indoor meet of the fall semester for Kansas. The Jayhawks return to action on Jan. 9, as they head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Razorback Invitational.
