Jayhawk Softball Enjoys Holiday Dinner

Dec. 6, 2010

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

To celebrate the season, the Kansas softball team gathered for a team dinner Sunday evening to spend time together before leaving for winter break. Upon their return, the team will be gearing up for the start of its 2011 season, which opens Feb. 11-13 at the Jacksonville University Tournament.

After dinner, the team held a dessert contest as part of its Rock Chalk Teams competition. The players, who are broken up into teams that compete in a variety of different events throughout the year, baked sweet treats and were judged on quality and presentation. Team Wheaties won best dessert thanks to the culinary skills of junior Leah Daiber, who created a target cake with her team.

Phog collected points for best presentation with the help of a video created by sophomore Alex Jones.
