Kansas Soccer Finishes in Top 50 RPI

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Of the 322 Division I soccer programs, Kansas came in at No. 47 in the NCAA’s final ratings percentage index (RPI) report. The Jayhawks finished with the fourth-best RPI in the Big 12 Conference.

Kansas had a successful season going 11-9-1 overall in 2011 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history. KU also picked up a win at No. 20 San Diego during the regular-season and took nationally-ranked and eventual champion Texas A&M to penalty kicks during the Big 12 Championship.

The Jayhawks, who will return all 11 starters next season, finished in the top 50 RPI along with the Big 12’s No. 4 Oklahoma State (6), No. 12 Texas A&M (12) and Baylor (15). OSU advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament while TAMU and BU both made it to second round play.
