Kansas Men's Basketball Spreads Holiday Cheer

Dec. 16, 2004

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas men’s basketball team looked to provide some holiday cheer for needy families Thursday evening. KU players, coaches, staff and family members met at the Lawrence Wal-Mart to shop for 17 families identified by the Salvation Army.

This is an annual event the men’s basketball team participates in during the holiday season. Those involved were given a wish list by Salvation Army representatives. From there they shopped to fulfill the lists.

“We’re trying to make the holiday season a little brighter for some families,” KU Director of Basketball Operations Danny Manning said.
