A LOOK AT XAVIER
Xavier enters today’s game 8-4 on the season after suffering a 69-65 setback against BallState in its final game before the holiday break. Fifth year head coach Kevin McGuff has led the Musketeers to the postseason in each of his first four seasons at the helm of the program., including an NCAA appearance in 2003.
XU is a veteran laden squad with four of its five probable starters seniors. The Musketeers lone non-senior starter is promising freshman Amber Harris. Ranked the top recruit in the nation last season by Blue Star, Harris has lived up to her potential in the early part of the season. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Harris leads Xavier in scoring, rebounds, blocks and steals. She’s already been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week five times.
Guards Suntana Granderson and Michele Miller average 13.8 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.
