Stats Bracket

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Kansas baseball team will enter the 2017 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship as the No. 7 seed, and will play the second-ranked school in TCU, the conference announced Sunday evening.

The Jayhawks (29-26, 11-13 Big 12) and TCU (39-14, 18-6 Big 12) opened up conference play March 17-19, in Fort Worth, Texas, where the Horned Frogs came out on top, two games to one. The matchup is slated for a 4 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday, May 24, as game one of the afternoon session.

Joining Kansas and TCU in that division of the bracket are No. 3-seeded Oklahoma (34-20, 12-11 Big 12) and No. 6-seeded Texas (34-20, 11-12 Big 12).

Texas Tech (42-13, 18-6 Big 12) finished the regular-season as co-Big 12 Champions with TCU and enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Red Raiders will face off against No. 8 seed Oklahoma State (26-25, 8-14 Big 12), while West Virginia (32-22, 12-12 Big 12) and Baylor (34-19, 12-12 Big 12) will enter as the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively.

In the history of the conference, Kansas has only been seeded higher than fifth one time – in 2014 at third – and has advanced to the championship game twice, winning the title in 2006.

All games of the championship will be played a Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
