2018 Kansas Football Media Guide now available

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With Kansas football preparing for the 2018 Big 12 Conference Football Media Days in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center at the Star, July 16-17, Kansas Athletics released the Jayhawks’ 2018 football media guide. The book – a 208-page collection of everything Kansas football – includes in-depth player and coach biographies, opponent information, a review of the 2017 season, record book and KU football history, and is available for purchase at KUStore.com or online viewing.
 
The guide’s front cover features senior linebacker Joe Dineen Jr., senior wide receiver Steven Sims Jr., and senior defensive tackle Daniel Wise running out of the tunnel through fog, preparing to take the field.
 
The media guide’s back cover features five more Jayhawks looking to make an impact on the field in 2018, including a pair of wide receivers in senior Jeremiah Booker and junior Evan Fairs. Also featured are a trio of juniors in safeties Mike Lee and Bryce Torneden and running back Khalil Herbert. The quintet show off a small portion of the wide range of uniform combinations the Jayhawks wear on game days. The 2018 schedule also graces the back schedule, with promotions for each home game listed.
 
KU football’s NFL Jayhawks are showcased on the inside front cover, led by five-time Pro Bowler Aqib Talib (LA Rams) and fellow Super Bowl 50 champion Chris Harris Jr. (Denver Broncos). Also featured are NFL rookies Dorance Armstrong Jr. (Dallas Cowboys), and Ben Johnson (LA Chargers), along with Fish Smithson (Washington Redskins), Ben Heeney (Houston Texans), Bradley McDougald (Seattle Seahawks) and Dexter McDonald (Oakland Raiders).
 
The inside back cover depicts Kansas football’s dedication to community service and giving back to the people of the city of Lawrence.
 
Dineen and Wise, who were recently tabbed Preseason All-Big 12 First Team, will be joined by Sims and Herbert along with head coach David Beaty in representing the Jayhawks in Frisco, as they take part in Big 12 Football Media Days on Monday, July 16. KU will begin the 2018 season on September 1 vs. Nicholls State. Jayhawk great Chris Harris Jr., will enter the Ring of Honor during KU’s opener versus NSU, and the 2008 Insight Bowl team will also be celebrated.
 
The Jayhawks will also host nonconference opponent Rutgers (Sept. 15/Family Weekend, Childhood Cancer Awareness) as Todd Reesing, who owns 14 school records and is one of the most decorated players in Kansas history, will have his name etched next to other Jayhawk legends in the Ring of Honor.
 
Big 12 rivals Oklahoma State (Sept. 29/Homecoming, K-Club Weekend), TCU (Oct. 27/Jayhawks for a Cure), Iowa State (Nov. 3/Salute to Service) and Texas (Nov. 23/Senior Day) will each visit Lawrence during the 2018 campaign.
