Jayhawks drop match against No. 2 Baylor to open Big 12 play

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Despite a strong-showing in the third set, Kansas was unable to overcome a potent Baylor attack and dropped the Big 12 opener in three sets inside the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.

Kansas attempted to contain the Lady Bears in the first two sets, but found itself on the wrong end of the score sheet and down two sets.

In the third set, the Jayhawks rallied out to an early lead and held a four-point advantage eight points into the set. KU and BU were tied at 12-12 before the Lady Bears captured the lead for good, but Kansas wasn’t going down without a fight.

Kansas rallied to narrow the score to 22-21 Baylor, but BU rattled off the final three points to capture the set and match.
