Anderson joins 2019-20 softball roster
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas softball head coach Jennifer McFalls announced the addition of Ashlyn Anderson, Gardner, Kansas native, to the 2019-20 squad.
“We are excited to add Ashlyn Anderson to our Jayhawk family,” McFalls said. “Ashlyn has the ability to be a difference-maker for us on offense and defense. She is very athletic with the ability to play multiple positions on defense and is a right-handed gap hitter with speed.”

Anderson played her high school ball at Gardner Edgerton high school. She was named to the All-State First Team as an infielder in 2018 and 2019 as well as entered the recruiting field as a Flo Softball Top 100 ranked player for the 2019 class.
“Ashlyn has played for a very high-level travel ball team, the DeMarini Aces, and understands how to compete for championships,” said McFalls. “I love her competitive spirit and passion for the game and I believe she has the ability to be an impact player for the next four years.”

During her final season with the DeMarini Aces, Anderson helped the team to a 54-30-6 record where she played third base and shortstop.
Anderson rounds out a strong freshman class that includes Haleigh Harper, Peyton Renzi, Jordan Richards, Madison Hirsch and Tatum Goff. She is also the second signee in as many weeks to commit to the Jayhawks, joining transfer Hailey Reed.
