Tickets On Sale Now for Hall of Fame Classic
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Tickets for the 2016 College Baseball Hall of Fame Classic featuring Kansas and former Big 12 foe Nebraska are on sale now.
The game will be played at Kauffman Stadium, home of the 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals, Wednesday, April 27, with first pitch slated for 6 p.m. Kansas will be the home team and occupy the third-base dugout.
Kansas has not played at Kauffman Stadium since April 6, 2011, after winning its fourth-straight game against Missouri in Kansas City. The Jayhawks hold a 4-1 mark in games held at Kauffman Stadium with their only loss coming against the Royals April 18, 1979, in an exhibition contest.
The Jayhawks and Huskers have not faced one another since Nebraska’s move to the Big Ten, but Kansas holds an 8-2 mark in the last 10 games the two squads have met, winning three-straight series.
Ticket prices for the Hall of Fame Classic range from $5 to $15 and can be purchased through the Kansas City Royals ticket services. Fans can enjoy the BATS Crown Club or Kia Diamond Club with food and drink provided for just $15 for adults and $10 for youth, or spectators can purchase general admission tickets for $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Children under 32 inches tall are not required to have a ticket and can sit on an adult’s lap, while youth prices are for children 17 and under.
Fans can be a part of history throughout the course of the 2016 season as head coach Ritch Price (415) looks to become KU’s all-time winningest coach. Price sits 24 wins shy from passing legendary head coach Floyd Temple (438) for most wins among KU head coaches.
Kansas looks to return to the NCAA Tournament as the Jayhawks host Northern Colorado, Monday, Feb. 22 for the 2016 home opener at Hoglund Ballpark, that provides a family-friendly environment that will not disappoint.
