Carter Stanley Named Manning Star Of The Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas senior quarterback Carter Stanley was named a Manning Award Star of the Week after leading KU to its 37-34 win over Texas Tech.

Stanley completed 26-of-37 passes, good for 415 yards and three touchdowns in leading Kansas to a come-from-behind win over Texas Tech. Stanley also scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the win.

It marks the second time during the 2019 season that Stanley has been honored by the Manning Award, as he was also recognized following KU’s win over Boston College.

KU fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for Stanley. When voting closes on Thursday at 11 a.m., the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates’ bowl performances in its balloting.
