πŸ† Chen Claims Second Victory in as Many Days

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Kansas diving competed in the 1-meter dive event on the second day of the Tiger Invite, and they were led once again by Jiayu Chen. The freshman posted a 292.10 total score to claim her second title of the invite after winning the 3-meter on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

"Today was a little more up and down than yesterday. Certainly, we're happy with Chen's victory, but we left some dives and points on the table. While we don't want to do that, a little adversity can develop toughness, and I expect our divers to be very tough tomorrow on platform. Again, a great learning opportunity as we wrap up our mid-season invite tomorrow."

Diving Coach Gabe Downey

The first-place finish gives Chen her eighth consecutive top finish of the season in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

Senior Peri Charapich was second on the KU squad in the 1-meter, finishing with a score of 231.25 and placing 18th overall. Sophomore Alison Grass finished in third with a 200.55 score followed by freshman Amanda Fingerut who totaled 183.60.
