The weekly honor is Lokedi’s third of her cross country career and first of the 2018 season. Lokedi earned the award after finishing first at the Rim Rock Classic in Lawrence, her first race of the year.

Although Saturday’s race was Lokedi’s season debut, the Eldoret, Kenya product clocked the best 6K of her career in the victory, crossing the finish line at 19:49.4, just one second shy of the Rim Rock Farm course record.

The senior was previously named Big 12 Cross Country Female Runner of the Week on Oct. 17, 2017 and Oct. 6, 2015.

Lokedi and the Jayhawks travel to Madison, Wisconsin for the Pre-National Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13. The races are set to begin at 11 a.m. at Zimmer Championship Course.
