Dates announced for Kansas football's Fan Day and KU Kickoff at Corinth Square

Beginning in August 2017, fans will be allowed to bring only one clear plastic bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bag per person inside Kansas athletics events.

Fans will also be allowed a small clutch purse not to exceed 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football’s fall camp is wrapping up and week one of college football is right around the corner, Kansas Athletics has announced two dates providing fans opportunities to meet and greet the Kansas football team before the season begins.
 
The first chance to see the 2017 Jayhawks in action will be on Saturday, August 19 for Fan Day/Selfie Saturday at 10:45 a.m. The Fun Zone is set to open at 9 a.m., while the gates to Memorial Stadium open at 10 a.m. KU will hold an open practice from 10:45 a.m., to noon and players and coaches will be taking photos and signing autographs from 12:15-1:15 p.m., around the perimeter of the field. Parking for the event is free and open with the exception of Lot 91, which will be being used for Hawk Week activities.
 
KU’s new clear bag policy and the use of metal detectors will be implemented at Fan Day in an effort to provide fans an educational opportunity to learn how the new entrance procedures will work. Less than a week later on Friday, August 25th at 6 p.m., Director of Athletics Dr. Sheahon Zenger, head coach David Beaty and KU Alumni Association’s Heath Peterson will address Kansas fans at the 12th annual KU Kickoff at Corinth Square. The celebration will feature food, music, the opportunity to win tickets and more.
