August Staff Newsletter: What will be your legacy month

Legacy: Something that is handed down from a previous generation or time.
Questions: What words would your friends use to describe you? What words would your family use? Your co-workers? How will you be remembered?
Though we actually live our legacy on a daily basis, August is a good time to reflect on our past and present actions, as well as to vow to make positive changes that will affect generations to come. Be mindful of the seeds, whether positive or negative, we plant in the lives of children, co-workers, student-athletes, family and friends. This observance is about making the right choices so all those around us will also make right choices. What we say and how we say it…what we do and how we do it, will certainly have an impact on those whose lives we touch.

Examples of legacies include:
• Commitment to family and faith
• Acceptance of others
• Practice gratitude
• Financial responsibility
• Strong work ethic
• Community service
• Build good positive friendships
• Have a healthy conscience
• Live life to the fullest
• Respect and care for our Mother Earth
• What will be yours?
