Cassius Sendish to Play in Medal of Honor Bowl Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas safety Cassius Sendish has been tabbed to play in the 2015 Medal of Honor Bowl, which will take place Saturday, Jan. 10 at Johnson Hagood Stadium on the campus of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.  Sendish will suit up for the American team and the game is set to kick off at 1:30 p.m. (CT), with a live broadcast on NBC Sports Network.
 
Sendish started all 24 games of his two-year Kansas career at safety. He ranked third on the team in 2014 with 69 total tackles, including 57 solo stops. The Waldorf, Maryland native tallied four passes defended and 1.5 tackles-for-loss as a senior. He recorded one interception, which he returned 30 yards and he also picked up one fumble and returned it 63 yards for a touchdown at Oklahoma. Sendish, who was voted a team captain for the 2014 season, was named KU’s Nolan Cromwell Award for Leadership winner following his senior campaign.

Sendish is one of three Jayhawk players playing in postseason all-star games joining linebacker Ben Heeney (East-West Shrine Game, Jan. 17) and JaCorey Shepherd (Senior Bowl, Jan. 24).
