Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Emprise Bank set for June 18

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas Athletics will open Memorial Stadium on Thursday, June 18 for fans to bring their blankets and pillows and enjoy a free movie on the stadium videoboard as it is hosting Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Emprise Bank.
The gates for Movie Night at Memorial Stadium will open at 5 p.m., and admission is free. Attendees will be able to enjoy the Fun Zone, which includes inflatable games, at the north end of Kivisto Field from 5-6:45 p.m., while the movie will start at 7 p.m. A variety of concession items will be available for purchase throughout the evening, and all guests will be allowed to bring in one unopened bottle of water.
Seating for the movie will be available on Kivisto Field with guests encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets. Chairs will not be allowed on the playing surface. Bleacher and limited mobility seating will also be available in Memorial Stadium.
As for what movie will be shown, fans will make that determination as they will vote between three movies. Voting will being on Thursday, May 21 and conclude on Friday, May 29 at 5 p.m. Fans can vote by going to http://kuathletics.com/movie. Fans can only vote one time and will choose between the following three movie options:
“Toy Story” is a 1995 film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by John Lasseter, “Toy Story” was the first feature-length computer-animated film and the first theatrical film produced by Pixar. “Toy Story” follows a group of anthropomorphic toys who pretend to be lifeless whenever humans are present, and focuses on the relationship between Woody, a pull-string cowboy doll and Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut action figure.
“The LEGO Movie” is a 2014 computer-animated adventure comedy film directed and co-written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman. Based on the LEGO line of construction toys, the film tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO mini-figure prophesied to save the universe from the tyrannical Lord Business as he gains different allies along the way.
“Finding Nemo” is a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It tells the story of the overprotective clownfish named Marlin who, along with a regal tang named Dory, searches for his abducted son Nemo all the way to Sydney Harbour. Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and let Nemo take care of himself.
