The LEGO Movie Selected for Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Emprise Bank

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas fans selected “The LEGO Movie” to be the featured film when Kansas Athletics hosts Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Emprise Bank. The movie will be shown on the stadium video board on Thursday, June 18.  Gates to Memorial Stadium and the Fun Zone, complete with inflatable games, will open at 5 p.m. The movie will begin at 7 p.m., and admission is free to all members of the community. Parking is free in lots surrounding the stadium after 5 p.m.
 
Gates on the west side of Memorial Stadium and at field level on either side of the videoboard will be open. Seating for the movie will be available on Kivisto Field with guests encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets. Chairs will not be allowed on the playing surface. Bleacher and limited mobility seating will also be available in Memorial Stadium.
 
Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the evening. In addition to traditional stadium concessions fare, local favorites Bigg’s BBQ and Salty Iguana will be serving select menu items throughout the evening. All guests will be allowed to bring in one unopened bottle of water.
 
“The LEGO Movie” is a 2014 computer-animated adventure comedy film directed and co-written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman. Based on the LEGO line of construction toys, the film tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO mini-figure prophesied to save the universe from the tyrannical Lord Business as he gains different allies along the way.
