LAWRENCE, Kan. – Following Tuesday’s practice in full pads and to break up the monotony of fall camp, Kansas football released a new version of its adidas uniform to its players to wear throughout the 2014 campaign.

The “Crimson Chrome” design features blue numbers with a chrome outline and chrome lettering, while each shoulder and hip dons a blue and chrome Jayhawk. The crimson helmet boasts a chrome facemask with blue numbering on one side and a Jayhawk head on the other side.

“I think the most important thing is that our players love them,” Kansas head coach Charlie Weis said. “I think that most of our fans will like them too.”

Perhaps the most intricate part of the package is the blue numbering on the jersey, which pays tribute to the University by filling in the chrome outline with a blue “KU” texture.

Fans will be able to purchase a replica version of the jersey from the KU Store in mid-to-late September, while the unveiling of the uniform to the public for a specific game is yet to be determined.
