Football Spring Game rosters decided in dramatic fashion

LAWRENCE, Kan. – A few days away from Kansas football’s 2017 Spring Game, the rosters were set in exciting fashion as co-defensive coordinator Kenny Perry of #TeamKU and associate head coach Tony Hull of #TeamJayhawks picked their respective teams Wednesday afternoon. 

The two coaches selected from their team’s meeting room in the Anderson Family Football Complex. When a position was chosen, the person adjacent to them on the depth chart went to the other team to balance the numbers. The annual Spring game will consist of four 15-minute running clock quarters with the Jayhawks drafted into two teams. The game will be televised live on the Jayhawk Television Network, in the state of Kansas and the Kansas City metro area, and nationally on ESPN3. Additionally, the game will be broadcast live across the state of Kansas on the Jayhawk Radio Network, with an audio stream also available at KUAthletics.com. Steven Sims Jr. after being selected.
 
The Jayhawks return 49 letterwinners from last season, including unanimous First Team All-Big 12 member Dorance Armstrong Jr., and honorable mention selections Hakeem Adeniji, LaQuvionte Gonzalez, Mike Lee, Cole Moos, Steven Sims Jr. and Daniel Wise. 
 
Several new faces are receiving their first taste of Kansas football as mid-year signees Peyton Bender, Hasan Defense, J.J. Holmes, Kerr Johnson Jr., Kyron Johnson, Willie McCaleb, KeyShaun Simmons and Shakial Taylor are on campus participating in spring workouts.
