Joe Dineen Jr., named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas senior linebacker Joe Dineen Jr., was honored by the Big 12 Conference with its weekly football awards Monday as he was tabbed Co-Defensive Player of the Week. 

Dineen collected nine tackles, including eight solo hits, to go along with 2.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack in KU’s game at K-State. He was instrumental in helping the Jayhawks defense hold the Wildcats to just 16 first-half rushing yards and 59 total yards in the first half of play. 

Dineen is collecting his second Big 12 weekly honor of the season and the third of his KU career. He is also a nominee for the Week 11 Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for his efforts against K-State.  

The Jayhawks are set to travel to No. 6/6 Oklahoma for a 6:30 p.m., contest on Saturday, Nov. 17. The game will be broadcast live on FOX.
