Kansas at Memphis Scheduled for 11 a.m. Kickoff on ESPNU

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The American Athletic Conference released its television broadcast assignments for the 2016 college football season Wednesday morning, with Kansas’ game at Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 17 being tabbed for an ESPNU broadcast. Making their first appearance on ESPNU since 2014, the Jayhawks will take on the Tigers at 11 a.m., at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.
 
Kansas, under the direction of second-year head coach David Beaty, will open the 2016 football season with a home game versus Rhode Island on Saturday, Sept. 3. The KU-Rhody game will be played at 6 p.m., with a live broadcast on the Jayhawk Network in the state of Kansas and the Kansas City metro area and is available outside of the state lines to a national audience on ESPN3. The Jayhawks will host Ohio in their second contest of the season on Saturday, Sept. 10. KU-Ohio will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Net (FSN), with a 1:30 p.m., kickoff.
 
Following the trip to Memphis, Kansas will open Big 12 Conference play at Texas Tech on Thursday, Sept. 29. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1. The Thursday night game will mark the first time the Jayhawks have played on a Thursday since they hosted Kansas State on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010.
 
Kansas will also host TCU (Oct. 8), Oklahoma State (Oct. 22/Homecoming, K-Club Weekend), Iowa State (Nov. 12) and Texas (Nov. 19) at Memorial Stadium during the 2016 campaign.
 
Kansas Athletics is offering a new Pick 2 Flex Pack ticket package for Jayhawk football games for the 2016 season. As part of the Pick 2 Flex Pack ticket option, fans can choose any two of KU’s six home games, with Pick 2 Flex Pack plans ranging in price from $105-$120. Pick 2 Flex Pack tickets are available to the general public beginning Wednesday, June 1.
 
Season tickets for the six-game home schedule are now on sale for as low as $115. The Family Season Ticket Plan, which includes two youth and two adult general admission tickets, is $400.
