LAWRENCE, Kan. – The last day of July signified something special for Kansas football: the first day of fall camp. Third-year head coach David Beaty welcomed 105 KU players to Lawrence to begin preparations for the 2017 season with the first practice of fall camp and a team-building day at Clinton Lake in Lawrence.

After a brief team meeting, the Jayhawks hit the field for a quick first practice in helmets and shorts. The practice gave newcomers the chance to get familiar with the flow of practice, while also getting their legs under them in preparation for the long season.
Following the first practice, the team loaded up and bused to Clinton Lake for an afternoon of activities at the beach. Players and coaches were able to eat and relax, play catch in the sand or try skills at wakeboarding and tubing behind boats driven by Beaty and other members of the Kansas football coaching staff.
