Minions Selected for Movie Night at Memorial Stadium Presented by Boston Financial

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas fans selected “Minions” to be the featured film when Kansas Athletics hosts Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Boston Financial on Thursday, June 2. Gates to Memorial Stadium and the FunZone, complete with inflatable games, will open at 5 p.m. The movie will begin on the stadium video board at 7 p.m. Admission is free to all members of the community. Parking will also be free in lots surrounding the stadium after 5 p.m.
 
Gates on the west side of Memorial Stadium and at field level on either side of the video board will be open. Seating for the movie will be available on Kivisto Field with guest encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets. Chairs will not be allowed on the playing surface. Bleacher and limited mobility seating will also be available in Memorial Stadium.
 
Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the evening. In addition to traditional stadium concessions fare, local favorites Bigg’s BBQ, Salty Iguana and Cold Stone Creamery will be serving select menu items throughout the evening. All guests will be allowed to bring in one unopened bottle of water.
 
“Minions” is a 2015 computer-animated family comedy directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, written by Brian Lynch and distributed by Universal Pictures. It features the voices of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney and Steve Coogan. It is a prequel to the Despicable Me films and follows the adventures of minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob.
