2014 WEF Pledge Deadline of April 18 Fast Approaching

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Membership has its advantages and to ensure full 2014 Williams Education Fund (WEF) benefits, including the most up-to-date priority points for the upcoming football season ticket Select-A-Seat, pledges for the annual drive must by received by April 18. That is also the deadline for football reserved-tier season tickets for WEF members. Season tickets for the 2014-15 men’s and women’s basketball season are scheduled to go on sale in May, so make your WEF pledge today to qualify.
 
Individuals are able to secure their WEF membership by visiting WilliamsFund.com or by calling (855) GIVE-WEF. For added convenience, automatic monthly payment plans are also available through credit card or by checking account direct payment with the final 2014 pledge payment due by March 2, 2015. The benefits of WEF membership include exclusive event invites, advanced access to tickets and tax deductibility (please consult your tax advisor).

A majority of WEF members will be provided a Select-A-Seat appointment, which will occur during the week of May 12, to choose their 2014 football season ticket location. Seats chosen for the 2014 Kansas football season may also be retained for the 2015 season for qualifying WEF members. To update account information, view priority point totals and membership ranking, log on to WilliamsFund.com. WEF members earn priority points by being football season ticket holders. Season tickets in tier 1, 2 or 3 reserved seating receive six points per ticket with a maximum of four tickets ($600 point value per ticket). The Family Zone season ticket pack, which consists of two adult and two youth tickets, earns five points per pack ($500 point value per pack) and the Coaches Corner season ticket package receives one point per ticket ($100 point value per ticket).
 
WEF members looking for more ways to earn priority points, can purchase season tickets to KU baseball, softball, women’s basketball, soccer or volleyball to earn two additional points per sport purchased ($200 point value per sport). WEF members can also refer new members and receive two points for every account referred ($200 point value per account). Additional points are available if the referral meets qualifying donation amounts.
 
Originally founded as the Outland Club in 1949 by Dick, Skipper and Odd Williams, the WEF is the official fundraising department for Kansas Athletics. Contributors to the WEF provide academic and athletic support to more than 500 University of Kansas student-athletes representing KU in 18 intercollegiate sports.
