Morgyn Seigfried joins Kansas Athletics as Associate Athletics Director for Creative Services & Communications

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Morgyn Seigfried, widely considered a leading expert in cutting edge communications and actionable strategies for social and digital media, will join Kansas Athletics as Associate Athletics Director for Creative Services & Communications. She will start at KU May 29.

“Morgyn brings a balance of creativity, experience and leadership to an area of our department that is inundated with requests for more content and story-telling on a regular basis,” Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “That experience will enable Kansas Athletics to fully engage our fans and all our constituencies more than ever before”
 
Seigfried will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all creative services, communications and media relations within Kansas Athletics. She will oversee and work day-to-day within the Creative Services staff, as well as providing oversight of the Communications division. Seigfried will manage all facets of the creative services department, including creative design, creative strategy, digital and social story-telling, digital and social advertising and ecommerce strategy and execution. She will also take a leadership role in partner relationship with the KAI website provider, and will assist staff with the strategic plan and the execution of Athletics’ goals on KUAthletics.com.
 
Since August 2018 Seigfried has led, managed and developed the digital/video strategy that supports the values, missions and brand of Temple.  As an Associate AD for Temple, she has coordinated creation of innovative and engaging content for all of Temple’s digital platforms.
 
Seigfried serves as the digital/video representative for senior athletics staff and oversees three video production coordinators, a motion graphics coordinator, a graphic designer, a video manager and several graduate assistants and interns. She has also provided social media training and brand building for all Temple student-athletes.
 
A former scholarship soccer student-athlete at Temple, she serves as an administrator for that program. After graduating in 2013, Seigfried spent one year at Lipscomb University as Athletics Content and Marketing Coordinator.  She returned to Temple the following year, first as social media coordinator, then as digital media coordinator before assuming her current position in 2017. She earned her Master’s Degree in Digital Innovation in Marketing at Temple in 2018. Seigfried is engaged to be married in 2020.
