“Hawks & Highways” events to bring University of Kansas to communities statewide

LAWRENCE, Kan. — In an effort to strengthen KU’s statewide outreach, Kansas Athletics and the University of Kansas Alumni Association have announced the continuation of the annual “Hawks & Highways” series of programs in communities throughout Kansas.

The series includes nine events in May and June, and also incorporates academic entities and departments at KU. Head football coach Les Miles will headline the stops in Dodge City, Independence, Salina and Wichita.

“I am looking forward to getting out and meeting many Jayhawks across the state of Kansas,” Miles said. “These events will be a great opportunity for me to share the vision we have for Kansas football with people who are very important to our program; our alumni and fans.”

Additional University and Athletics representatives will be announced at a later date. The Hawks and Highways schedule (to date) is as follows:

We are excited to share the highlights of the state’s flagship university, and are eager to visit cities around the state.”
