Jayhawks finish tied for fourth at the Windon Memorial Classic

LAKE FOREST, Ill.– After the final round at the Windon Memorial Classic, the Kansas men’s golf team finished tied for fourth with a score of 3-over par 855 at the Conways Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.

"As a team we played well today. The pins were difficult, but we hung in there."

Head Coach Jamie Bermel

In his second tournament as a Jayhawk, freshman Luke Kluver tied for fifth place on the individual leaderboard out of 79 golfers and carded 3-under par 210 for the tournament. Kluver had 13 birdies in the tournament, which tied for second most among the field.

"Luke was solid today. He got a couple under early and just played well the rest of the round."

Head Coach Jamie Bermel

Following behind Kluver was junior Ben Sigel, who shot 2-under par 211 and finished tied for seventh place.

"Ben hung in there today. He actually had a five-foot birdie putt to beat Marquette and UNLV. He hit a good putt, but didn’t make it."

Head Coach Jamie Bermel

The Jayhawks will next head to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to compete in the William H. Tucker Invitational Sept. 27-28.
