Jayhawks in the NFL: Preseason Week Four

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The final week of the NFL Preseason kicks off on Thursday night, with all 12 NFL Jayhawks making their final appearance ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline on August 31, as players fight for a spot on their respective team’s roster.

On Tuesday, Jayhawk Fish Smithson was officially signed by his hometown Baltimore Ravens.

Colts vs. Bengals

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Shakial Taylor (Indianapolis Colts)

Taylor made an appearance in week three for the Indianapolis Colts, where Taylor played in 30 defensive snaps, recording one tackle as the Colts fell to the Chicago Bears, 27-17.

Ravens vs. Redskins

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr. (Washington Redskins), Fish Smithson (Baltimore Ravens)

In week three of the preseason, Steven Sims Jr., was targeted three times in the Washington Redskins’ matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, despite not recording any receptions. Smithson will make his first appearance for the Ravens on Thursday, after appearing in the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp earlier this season.

Buccaneers vs. Cowboys

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Dorance Armstrong Jr., Daniel Wise (Dallas Cowboys)

In last weeks game, both Armstrong Jr. and Wise made an appearance in the Dallas Cowboy’s 34-0 shutout over the Houston Texans, where Armstrong combined for two tackles and .5 sacks and Wise recorded one tackle and .5 sacks.

Titans vs. Bears

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: John Wirtel (Chicago Bears)

In last week’s showdown with the Indianapolis Colts, John Wirtel made an appearance on special teams in the Bears 27-17 victory.

Cardinals vs. Broncos

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Joe Dineen Jr., Chris Harris Jr. (Denver Broncos)

Dineen and Harris did not make an appearance in week three of the preseason.

Raiders vs. Seahawks

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Bradley McDougald (Seattle Seahawks)

McDougald played in week three’s contest against the Los Angeles Chargers and made two tackles in 23 defensive snaps. The Seahawks got the best of the Chargers, coming away with the win, 23-15.

Dolphins vs. Saints

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Tyler Patmon (Miami Dolphins)

In week three, Patmon made an appearance for the Miami Dolphins against the Jacksonville Jaguars, appearing in five snaps on special teams. Patmon and the Dolphins came away with the victory, 22-15.

Rams vs. Texans

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Aqib Talib (Los Angeles Rams)

Talib did not make an appearance in last weeks game.

Chargers vs. 49ers

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 9 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Ben Johnson (Los Angeles Chargers)

Ben Johnson made an appearance in week three of the preseason, appearing in 12 special teams snaps for the Los Angeles Chargers.
