Jayhawks in the NFL: Preseason Week Two

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Week two of the 2019 NFL Preseason kicks off on Thursday night, where all 11 Kansas Jayhawks will be in action, as the teams get set for the NFL regular season, which kicks off on Thursday, September 5.

Week two of the NFL preseason features Jayhawks playing Thursday through Monday, as players fight for a spot on the final 53-man roster of their respective teams, which will be finalized on August 31.

 

Redskins vs. Bengals

Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr. (Washington Redskins)

Steven Sims Jr., will take the field on Thursday night as the Washington Redskins take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 6 p.m. CT. Sim Jr., recorded one catch for nine yards in the Redskins preseason opener against the Browns a week ago.

 

Giants vs. Bears (NFL Network)

Friday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: John Wirtel (Chicago Bears)

Chicago Bears long snapper John Wirtel enters week two of preseason action on Friday, as the Bears host the New York Giants. Wirtel found action in the Bears’ preseason opener a week ago, appearing four times on special teams as the Bears fell to the Carolina Panthers, 23-13.

 

Buccaneers vs. Dolphins

Friday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Tyler Patmon (Miami Dolphins)

Tyler Patmon and the Miami Dolphins take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday, after Patmon made his initial appearance a week ago in the Dolphins 34-27 victory against the Atlanta Falcons. Patmon made one tackle and played 14 defensive snaps.

Browns vs. Colts (NFL Network)

Saturday, Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Shakial Taylor (Indianapolis Colts)

The Indianapolis Colts take on the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, as Shakial Taylor looks to play in his second game as a Colt. In his debut, Taylor played 21 defensive snaps at cornerback, as the Colts fell to the Buffalo Bills, 24-16.

Cowboys vs. Rams (NFL Network)

Saturday, Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Dorance Armstong Jr., (Dallas Cowboys) Daniel Wise (Dallas Cowboys), Aqib Talib (Los Angeles Rams)

Three Jayhawks will be in action in between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night, as Dorance Armstong Jr., (Dallas Cowboys) Daniel Wise (Dallas Cowboys), Aqib Talib (Los Angeles Rams) square off at 9 p.m. CT. For the Cowboys, Armstrong and Wise each appeared in 27 snaps against the San Francisco 49ers a week ago, with Armstrong picking up one tackle. Talib did not appear in action for the Rams last week against the Oakland Raiders.

Chargers vs. Saints

Sunday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Ben Johnson (Los Angeles Chargers)

After signing with the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday, Ben Johnson is looking to make his 2019 debut on Sunday. Johnson spent the 2018 training camp with the Chargers, after catching 61 passes for 670 yards and two touchdowns in 45 career games as a Jayhawk.

Vikings vs. Seahawks (FOX)

Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Bradley McDougald (Seattle Seahawks)

Safety Bradley McDougald and the Seattle Seahawks take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 7 p.m. CT, as McDougald looks to make his 2019 preseason debut. Last week, McDougald did not see any action against the Denver Broncos.

 

Broncos vs. 49ers (ESPN)

Monday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Joe Dineen Jr., (Denver Broncos) Chris Harris Jr., (Denver Broncos)

A pair of Broncos, Joe Dineen Jr., and Chris Harris Jr., are in action on Monday night, as the Denver Broncos take on the San Francisco 49ers. Last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Harris Jr., combined for two tackles and a tackle for loss, while Dineen Jr., combined for five tackles, including two on special teams.
