Jayhawks in the NFL: Week Eight

Lawrence, Kan.- Week eight of the NFL season begins today, with Steven Sims Jr., and the Washington Redskins taking on the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football at 7:20 p.m. CT. 

Four Jayhawks will be playing throughout the weekend, with two of our four Jayhawks in a showdown in Sunday’s game between the Denver Broncos (Chris Harris Jr.) and the Indianapolis Colts (Shakial Taylor). Aqib Talib was placed on the Los Angeles Rams injured reserve, after sustaining a rib injury in week six.

Washington Redskins vs. Minnesota Vikings

Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7:20 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr. (Redskins)

Steven Sims Jr., and the Washington Redskins kick off week eight of NFL action on Thursday Night Football. In week seven, Sims recorded three kickoff returns for 63 yards, averaging 21 yards total. Entering Thursday’s game, Sims ranks third in the NFL in kickoff return yards, returning 13 kicks for a total of 289 yards.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons

Saturday, Oct. 27 at 12 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Bradley McDougald (Seahawks)

Bradley McDougald did not appear in last week’s matchup with the Baltimore Ravens due to a back injury, but he is looking to return on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. So far this season, McDougald has accumulated 25 tackles and one interception, while the Seattle Seahawks are off to a 5-2 start to the season. 

 

Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts

Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:25 p.m. CT

Jayhawks in Action: Chris Harris Jr (Broncos) and Shakial Taylor (Colts)

Sunday afternoon features a Jayhawk showdown between the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts. Last week, Chris Harris Jr., made his 130th career appearance for the Broncos, where he recorded one tackle. So far this season, Harris has recorded one interception and totaled 19 tackles. 

 

Shakial Taylor made his second appearance for the Colts, after making his debut against the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago. Taylor recorded one tackle last week, with two tackles on the season. Taylor will look to continue to provide for the Colts’ secondary this weekend against the Broncos.
