Jayhawks in the NFL: Week Five

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Week five of the NFL season kicks off on Thursday night, with Jayhawks Aqib Talib and Bradley McDougald facing off between the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks from Centurylink Field in Seattle. Week five of Jayhawks in the NFL also features three games on Sunday, with all five active Jayhawks playing throughout the weekend.

Through the first four weeks of 2019 NFL season, nine Jayhawks total have been placed on NFL teams, with Fish Smithson (Baltimore Ravens), Shakial Taylor (Indianapolis Colts) and Joe Dineen Jr., (Denver Broncos) being placed on the injured reserve, while Daniel Wise (Dallas Cowboys) was placed on the practice squad. LA Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks

In week four of the NFL season, Talib started for the Rams, leaving the game with two tackles and one assist. So far this season, Talib has recorded six tackles and five assisted tackles. Bradley McDougald recorded three tackles and two assisted tackles, helping to lead the Seahawks to a victory in week four. For the 2019 season, McDougald has recorded 13 tackles and five assisted tackles.

New England Patriots vs. Washington Redskins

Leaving week four of the NFL season, Steven Sims Jr. returned two kickoffs for an average of 18.5 yards. Through the first four weeks of the NFL season, Sims has a total of nine kickoff returns, with an overall of 205 yards, which ranks second in the league. While the Redskins fell to the Giants, Sims and the Redskins hope to bounce back this week against the Patriots.

Jayhawks in Action: Dorance Armstrong Jr. (Cowboys)

In week four of the NFL season, Dorance Armstrong Jr. of the Cowboys made an appearance, recording one tackle. So far this season, Armstrong has played in all four games, recording two tackles and one assist, and three quarterback hurries. While the Cowboys lost to the Saints in week four, Armstrong and the Cowboys take on Green Bay on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.

Denver Broncos vs. LA Chargers

Jayhawks in Action: Chris Harris Jr. (Broncos)

 

Chris Harris Jr. recorded two tackles last week in the Bronco’s 26-24 loss to the Jaguars. For the season, Harris has recorded nine tackles and three assists. Despite falling to 0-4 to start the season, Harris and the Broncos look to rebound on Sunday against conference foe Los Angeles Chargers.
