Jayhawks in the NFL: Week Nine

Lawrence, Kan.- Week nine of the NFL season begins this weekend, with Steven Sims Jr and the Washington Redskins taking on Buffalo Bills Sunday, November 3 at 12 p.m. CT.

Five Jayhawks play throughout the week, with eight Jayhawks total on teams. Aqib Talib was recently traded to the Miami Dolphins after being placed on injured reserve, along with Fish Smithson who was placed on injury reserve for the Baltimore Ravens, and Daniel Wise placed on practice squad for the Dallas Cowboys. 

 

Washington Redskins vs. Buffalo Bills

Sunday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr. (Redskins)

In week eight of the season, Steven Sims Jr. was subbed in for the Redskins against the Minnesota Vikings. Sims recorded two kickoff returns for a total of 54 yards. This brings his season total up to 15 kickoff returns, for a total of 343 yards. While Sims and the Redskins fell to the Vikings, they hope to make a comeback against the Buffalo Bills.

 

Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunay, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Shakial Taylor (Colts)

Shakial Taylor did not make an appearance in the three game since being taken off of injury reserve. Taylor has recorded two tackles for the season and hopes to continue assisting the Indianapolis Colts as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in week nine.

 

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Seattle Seahawks

Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3:05 p.m.

Jayhawks in Action: Bradley McDougald (Seahawks)

Bradley McDougald and the Seattle Seahawks came home with a victory last week against the Atlanta Falcons, with McDougald subbing in. While recording no individual stats for the game, he has recorded 25 tackles and one interception this season.

 

Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos

Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3:25 p.m.

Jayhawks in Action: Chris Harris Jr. (Broncos)

Chris Harris Jr. started for the defensive line of the Denver Broncos against the Indianapolis Colts in week eight of the NFL season. Harris recorded three tackles, bringing up his season total to 22. The Broncos fell to the Colts, however Harris and the Broncos hope to rise up again to defeat the Cleveland Browns during week nine.

 

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

Monday, Nov. 4 at 7:15 p.m. 

Jayhawks in Action: Dorance Armstrong (Cowboys)

The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed a bye week for week eight of the NFL season, however Doracne Armstrong and the Cowboys are hoping to return well rested to defeat the New York Giants for week nine of the NFL season. Armstrong has recorded nineteen tackles total for the season.
