Jayhawks land 39 on Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team

IRVING, Texas – Kansas track & field landed 39 student-athletes on the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team, highlighted by six Jayhawks that earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages, announced by the conference offices on Wednesday. In total, 344 student-athletes earned recognition on the Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team.
 
Three Kansas men; Braden Kleinschmidt, George Letner and Brandon Lombardino, as well as three Jayhawk women; Cameron Gueldner, Laura Taylor and Andrea Willis, earned perfect 4.0 GPAs.
 
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 GPA or better, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
 
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
