LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men’s golf team announced two additions to the 2020-21 roster. Davis Cooper signed his National Letter of Intent on Thursday, Nov. 14, while Tate Herrenbruck signed on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

“Very excited to sign two golfers from Kansas,” head coach Jamie Bermel. “Both huge Jayhawk fans, with siblings already at KU.”

Davis Cooper | Overland Park, Kan.

Cooper is coming off an impressive junior year at Blue Valley North High School. He finished in fifth place at the Kansas 6A state tournament in 2019. Cooper won his first AJGA event at the Kyle Stanley Championship and went on to a top-five finish at the Bass Pro Shops/Payne Stewart Junior Championship. This summer, Cooper received the Kenneth Smith Award, which is presented to the top high school golfer who demonstrates excellence in academics, leadership, community service and golf.

Congratulations to Tate Herrenbruck on his signing to play golf at KU!

Tate Herrenbruck | Salina, Kan.

Herrenbruck has made great strides throughout his career at Sacred Hearts High School. Most recently by the Kansas Golf Association, Herrenbruck was named the 2019 Bushnell KGA Junior Player of the Year. He placed second at the Kansas Junior Golf Association Tour’s Match and Stroke Play tournament in Emporia, Kansas. In his junior year, he placed second at the Kansas 2A state championship to help Sacred Hearts get its fifth consecutive state championship. In 2018, he also finished tied for second place at the state championship with his future Jayhawk teammate and older brother, Grant Herrenbruck.
