🥽 Jayhawks to Compete at Toyota U.S. Open
ATLANTA, Ga. – Kansas will send 12 swimmers to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the four-day Toyota U.S. Open as part of the USA Championship Series. The event begins on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and runs until Saturday, Dec. 7.
The swimmers that will be traveling to Atlanta to participate will be Elizabeth Amato-Hanner, Crissie Blomquist, Dewi Blose, Dannie Dilsaver, Haley Downey, Sydnie Horne, Amelie Lessing, Manon Manning, Jenny Nusbaum, Greta Olsen, Lauryn Parrish and Kate Steward. Each of them will be competing for a chance to qualify for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials that will be taking place in Omaha, Neb. from June 21-28.

The Jayhawks will be entering the competition coming off a strong performance in the Kansas Classic where KU finished with 1,203.5 total points and a first-place finish. Manning was named the swimmer of the meet after totaling 72 points for the Jayhawks as well as being a member of the 400-yard medley relay that set the KU record in the event with a final time of 3:37.37. Steward meanwhile is coming off a record-setting performance of her own where she broke the Kansas record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:11.88.
Wednesday and Thursday’s prelims will be available to watch at usaswimming.org while the finals on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast live on NBCSN and nbcsports.com.
