Four Jayhawks Advance at ITA Summer Circuit

LAWRENCE, Kan. –- Four Kansas women’s tennis players advanced in the singles draw at the opening day of the 2015 ITA Summer Circuit held at the Jayhawk Tennis Center. Incoming freshmen Anastasiya Rychagova and Nina Khmelnitckaia along with rising sophomores Smith Hinton and Summer Collins each advanced in the women’s singles draw Friday.
 
Rychagova advanced to Saturday’s play after defeating Katherine Dolan, 6-0, 6-1 and Clare Raley of Missouri, 6-2, 7-6. Khmelnitckaia defeated Meghan King, 6-1, 6-2, before knocking off Madison Rhyner of Missouri, 6-3, 7-6.
 
Collins defeated Amy Fugit of Emporia State, 6-2, 6-2 and then beat Emma Santos, 6-4, 7-6. Hinton was victorious over Grace Ball, 6-0, 6-1 and then knocked off Madeline Johnson of Drake, 6-4, 6-1. Collins and Hinton will face each other Saturday at 9 a.m.
