Kansas Athletics hosts 2019 Midwest Compliance Summit

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics, under the direction of senior associate athletics director—compliance and student services, David Reed, and the Jayhawk compliance staff hosted the Midwest Compliance Summit July 22-23 on the KU campus.

“Jeff Long and I wanted to invite our Division 1 Compliance colleagues within the state of Kansas, and throughout the country to the Midwest Compliance Summit,” Reed said. “Several members of the NCAA staff, and conference leaders came to discuss the complexities and the future of NCAA Compliance. It is our hope to promote the compliance profession and also show off our wonderful university.

Long, KU’s Athletics Director, welcomed a large group of compliance staffs from colleges and universities in Hadl Auditorium Monday afternoon. Also addressing the group of attendees from the Jayhawk contingent was Kansas’ faculty athletics representative, Susan Williams and Associate Vice Provost for Institutional Compliance, Jeff Chasen, in addition to Reed.

In addition to KU’s compliance staff serving as the hosts of the two-day event, several representatives from the NCAA and various conference offices were on hand to lead educational meetings and breakout sessions on today’s essential issues within the compliance community.
