Kansas cross country teams earn All-Academic awards

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the 2018 cross country individual and team academic awards on Friday, with the Kansas men’s and women’s teams each earning All-Academic nods.

To be eligible for the award, a team must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA and must have had at least five runners compete at the NCAA regional championship meet in November.

The Jayhawk women amassed a GPA of 3.61, while the men ended the fall semester with a 3.18 cumulative GPA. The women’s squad garnered the honor for the 10th-straight season, while the KU men earned the distinction for the ninth-consecutive year.
