Kansas football schedules Virginia in 2029, 2030

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas and Virginia will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 1991 when the Jayhawks travel to Charlottesville in 2029 as the first part of a home-and-home series, it was announced Friday.

The 2029 game at Virginia is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. KU will host the Cavaliers for a return game at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 7, 2030.

“While it may seem that this series is far into the future, that is the reality of scheduling college football games in 2019,” said Jeff Long, KU Director of Athletics. “We are pleased to add a Power 5 program to our schedule, especially one that shares our AAU status and is a peer institution for our University.”

Virginia leads the all-time series against KU, 2-0, having won in Lawrence in 1990 and again in Charlottesville in 1991.

The Virginia games are the first scheduled contests for KU for both the 2029 and 2030 seasons.
