Kansas Football's Offense Breaks Out

The Jayhawks are coming off one of their best offensive games heading into this weekend’s homecoming game against Texas Tech.

In last week’s matchup with No. 15/15 Texas on Oct. 19, Kansas tallied 569 yards of total offense, including 310 yards through the air, putting up 48 points on the scoreboard. Although their 48 points weren’t enough to top Texas, their outing was the most points scored for the Jayhawks in a Big 12 game since 2010. It also marked the second game this season in which the Jayhawks scored 48 points, with the last time the team accomplished such a feat came during the 2007 season.

Kansas’ 569 yards of total offense were the 17th most in school history and the most since accumulating 570 yards against Rhode Island in 2016. In Big 12 play, it is the most yards since tallying 572 against Nebraska in 2007. It also marked the second time this season the Jayhawks gained 560 or more yards (567 at Boston College), marking the third time in school history the Jayhawks have accumulated 560 or more yards of total offense (2007 (3x), 2003 (2x)).
