Kansas knocks off Bears

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas softball hosted their third fall ball matchup of the season on Tuesday, and the team came away with the 1-0 win over Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) at Arrocha Ballpark.

It was a tightly contested matchup throughout the contest as both teams were unable to gain a large advantage. After going up 1-0 in the sixth inning, thanks to freshman Ashlyn Anderson who hit a single to score the lone run of the contest, the Bears were looking to even it up at the top of the seventh. With a runner on second, the ball was hit to deep center field where sophomore Macy Omli was able to recover the ball and fire it to freshman Jordan Richards at the plate to beat the runner and keep the 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Lexy Mills held her own on the mound, finishing with a game-high five strikeouts in just two innings of action.
