Kansas men’s golf heads to Illinois to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Coming off a second-place finish at the Badger Invitational, the Kansas men’s golf team will travel to Lake Forest, Illinois, to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic at Conway Farms Golf Club.

There are 14 teams that will be featured on the par 71, 7,233-yard golf course, including the winner from last year’s event, Marquette, which shot 4-under par 860.

"The field is good. (The field includes)A lot of Big Ten and Big 12 teams that are going to be good and we need to play our best. I think we can draw from our experience from last week in Wisconsin. The golf courses are similar and hopefully we can improve on the mistakes we made last week and come out with a better result this week."

Head Coach Jamie Bermel

The Jayhawks finished their first tournament of the fall season in second place with an 8-under par 856 at the Badger Invitational Sept. 8-10 in Madison, Wisconsin, behind Notre Dame, who is also featured in the Windon Memorial Classic.

The first two rounds will be a shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 16, at 8:30 a.m., while the third round is set to tee off at 8 a.m., on Tuesday. Live scoring
