Kansas set to host Johnson County on Wednesday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas softball is set to host their second fall ball exhibition match of the year on Wednesday (Sept. 18) against Johnson County at Arrocha Ballpark at 6 p.m.

 

"I want us to focus on not making mental mistakes on defense, staying very aggressive at the plate and getting ahead on the mound. As a team, we have to learn to compete hard from the first inning to the last, have great communication and have fun playing the game."

In her first pitching performance since coming to KU, senior Hailey Reed showed what she is going to be bringing to the Jayhawks rotation moving forward. In the second inning, Reed struck out the Seminole State side. She finished with a team-high four strikeouts in just two innings of action on the mound.

Sydnee Ramsey Practice

First Knock of the Fall Season

Redshirt sophomore Sydnee Ramsey has the team’s first home run of the fall season on Sunday (Sept. 15) in the team’s first exhibition of the 2019-20 season. Her two-run shot to center field gave the Jayhawks a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning and tied her for a team-high two RBIs on the afternoon.
