Kansas sixth seed in Big 12 Softball Championship

IRVING, Texas – The 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship bracket has been set following conference competition on Sunday, May 5, and Kansas has secured the sixth seed in the tournament. The Jayhawks made the tournament for the first time since its return in 2017 and is scheduled to play in Big 12 postseason play for the first time since 2010.

KU is slated to face No. 1 seed Oklahoma (18-0 Big 12) and No. 4 seed Texas Tech (8-10 Big 12) in pool play Friday, May 10 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Following pool play and the results of the first two games of the tournament, Kansas is scheduled to play in one of three games on Saturday, May 11.

All-Session tickets for the Championship have sold out. If available, a limited number of single-session tickets will be sold on-site Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11.

Seven conference members sponsor the sport of softball – Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech. The Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship returned in 2017 after a seven-year hiatus. Oklahoma won the 2017 and 2018 Big 12 Softball Championships, claiming its second-consecutive and sixth overall postseason title.
