Kansas-UMKC softball contest moved to 5 p.m. Thursday

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas Athletics officials have moved Thursday’s home softball game against UMKC to a 5 p.m. first pitch to avoid forecasted frigid temperatures in the late evening hours.

The game — originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. start time — will be televised on the Jayhawk Television Network, powered by Spectrum Sports Kansas City. JTV is available in the state of Kansas with participating cable and telecom providers. It is also available via the ESPN App and WatchESPN.

Thursday’s game between the Jayhawks and Kangaroos is the opener of the Jayhawk Invitational at Arrocha Ballpark through Sunday. The four-day event features KU, UMKC, Nebraska, Tulsa, Green Bay and Northern Iowa.
