Kansas wins three events on final day of Ward Haylett Invite to conclude pre-conference action

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas track & field wrapped up pre-conference championships action on Saturday at the Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas, winning three events, including two by sophomore Darius Releford.

Releford picked up wins in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.89 in the 110 hurdles and 53.89 in the 400 hurdles.

Sophomore Khristen Bryant won the women’s pole vault, clearing 3.80 meters (12-5.5 ft.) for the victory. Fellow Jayhawk Samantha Van Hoecke finished second in the event by tying her outdoor personal record of 3.65 meters (11-11.75 ft.).

NOTABLES

  • Catherine Liggett and Wumi Omare each set personal bests in the women’s 800-meter run. Liggett clocked in at 2:10.31 to place second and Omare placed third with a time of 2:12.01.
