KU soccer claims United Soccer Coaches Academic Award

For the 16th time in 17 seasons, the Kansas soccer team earned a Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches, it was announced Thursday afternoon.

Head coach Mark Francis squad posted a team GPA of 3.47 during the 2018-19 academic year, with 27 of its 31 student-athletes who were members of the 2018 roster able to boast a cumulative GPA above 3.0 throughout the academic year.

A total of 989 college teams (345 men, 644 women) earned the Team Academic Award. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year.
